My name is Luz Elena Klotz and my husband's name is Dan. We have been married for 43 years and high school sweethearts. Our home is on 12 acres and we have lived here for 32 years. After Dan's retirement we decided we needed to begin a new chapter in our lives. Our daughter had shared a story about people paying to cuddle cows. I didn't believe it but I quickly learned it really is a thing. We began with chickens. Then the goats, Buttercup and Oreo. T-Bone, Stacey and Reba came to us a bit later. We adopted Charlotte from the Humane Society after she was found wandering the streets.
This summer we put up a greenhouse in which we will be growing microgreens in the future. As we started to care for our animals we have gotten to know each of their personalities. It quickly became apparent that cuddling, brushing and hugging a cow really is rewarding. The goats are hilarious! The pig is the most gentle and friendly one you would ever want to pet. We are looking forward to opening our home to people that just want to experience a working farm and to enjoy the animals like we do.
